All teachers say for everyone who wishes to learn to remember their dreams, it is essential really to write down our dreams. You then find, as with all things which interest us, that we take a further step or steps forward.

I have many notebooks A4 of written dreams but over the years, all special dreams I type up - easier to read and refer back to!

In fact only today, I came across a folder and some typed dreams were in, going back to 1992. I re-read them, they were special and as I did so, it was so easy to remember that emotion and experience after so many years.

The best way is to have a notebook and pen in your bedroom - say before sleeping to spirit you would like to start to write down your dreams and can they help you. As you do this, writing down dreams becomes second nature, and your higher self soon learns to come too on important dreams, where you can then write down the dream. I always give a dream a heading and write the day, month and year down - otherwise you never remember.

As I said before, learn to take in all what is happening around you - your emotion, and then when you do write down your dream put down exactly what you experienced and your emotion. It is like in a fleeting moment sometimes you train your memory to remember everything, what someone special looked like, the surroundings, other people, etc.

There have been some dream experiences over the years where I have drawn in my fashion, a psychic art drawing of a face only, capturing that essence, even though not a professional artist, it does not matter, as what matters is to tune into that spiritual quality and so you have like a picture from spirit.

I have one drawing on my website, if I can put here I will, which is of a person I saw in a dream before 1995, where there were loads of huge, vast statues, and this particular one was my favourite and I drew it. Through these experiences, learning takes place and attunement to spirit and our guides.

Sometimes I will be travelling, more often by coach, sometimes by car, a little by train. Sometimes I am just there and see people. Sometimes I am aware of walking and know it is me. Other times it is like looking at a tv - which denotes a past life experience. So lots of variations.

One of the dreams I was re-reading today was where there were a couple of us, three or four, and we went to this place which was un-inhabited.... however it was the most beautiful place of translucent colours, which was stunning and out of this world. It was good this time going to a place which had nobody to go with a couple of others.

Just to give you a brief example, quite a few years ago, I had this dream - there were three men talking around this lake - in a foreign language, which felt French. Anyway, all of a sudden this young woman came from out of the lake and rose up. It may not seem much reading a few words but it is the memory and emotion which having written down take you to different times and places. I was aware of looking at these three men and lake as if I was looking at a film say and saw this young lady emerge from the lake, so in this dream I was an observer or onlooker, however my understanding was that the young lady symbolised myself.

I have not had your experience in that as such I look down on my body. With dream experiences we do go to the plane which we have an affinity with and to those in spirit again where we have that love and connection.

At times a dream can be so powerful and emotional, that upon coming too, my eyes water and as I have written down the dream, the tears continue.

When you had your experiences at College - was that a happy time? If it was, it could be that you were more receptive to the unknown because you were in a good place, or if you were less than happy, again, that could have made your subsconscious look for more than this physical plane.

Let me and us know how things go and if you start to write down dreams. You learn with a little practice, that your body automatically seems to wake up to enable you to write that dream down.

In answer to your question Pat, yes i have experienced astral travel but have not got very far with it. I have felt the sensation of floating out of my body and being able to see around the room with my third eye. However I get scared and will myself back in to my body. The astral experiences happened a lot in the 90s when I was in college. Throughout the years I have experienced the sensation but havn't got any further.
I appreciate your advice Pat on writing things down. I have often thought about keeping a dream journal but never got round to it.

I am still a veteran to the diffent types of dreams and their representation but hope this site can enlighten me on this. The astral type dream does not appear to be a dream so to speak because you are aware of what is going on and it is almost like you are living in the conscious mind as if we are awake.

I appreciate your thoughts and welcome any experiences you wish to share.

Very interesting. As someone who has been having dreams since about 1984 and where I write out all the important ones, which means that even years later, you can go back to that remembrance of that dream and it is as if it was yesterday, as the experience is still very vivid. However I have never had your experience where I was conscious I was astral travelling. In my experience, meeting in a kitchen or a restaurant denotes our inner being.... The man you saw and spoke to and who I am sure you would like to meet is interesting, and I am sure he too must be wondering who you were and the connection. If you have not done so already, ask your guides to give you information on this meaning. I find it helps to have paper and pen or go straight onto the computer as for me, once I start writing, even if I think I am not going to write, the act of intentionally going to write, helps bring this about.

Since this experience have you had similar astral travel dream experiences? Do you wish to?

This man could be a fellow traveller with a similar attunement or from a spiritual group you will meet up with from time to time. Then again.... it would be very interesting for you I am sure if you met him in this earth life away from astral travel.

We all have many people who we have an affinity with, and sometimes during sleep, we meet up with them. We do not know their names and will quite possibly not meet up with them but during our sleep when we are able to astral travel, we can become refreshed and encouraged and strengthened by others who have similar spiritual goals as ourselves and who very likely have the same teachers in spirit.

Having just joined, I am not aware if you are someone who regularly has dreams which are vivid and where you write them down.

For me re my dream experiences, they are always in colour. I pay attention to the people or special person in my dream - do we speak? Do we have an understanding without speaking? How potent and powerful is the memory - some are very, others less so.

My belief is that without the acceptance of a belief in reincarnation in dreams, dreams on their own - have a big chunk of their understanding missing. It is like a jigsaw with pieces missiing. Belief in reincarnation means we are aware we meet up with our guides, loved ones through time, and sometimes dreams are a form of initiation which can indicate the present or from a past life.

Initiations are easier when we astral travel to the spiritual realms in our sleep state, as here on earth, we have the density of the earth world. Much can be achieved whilst sleeping. Help can be given. Learning is achieved. Teachers are able to impart knowledge which can slowly filter down to us in our day to day lives.

PS From dreams I have had over the years and where there has been a very potent experience and meeting, I have attempted to capture that spiritual essence, and although not a professional psychic artist, I have been known to capture that spiritual essence from guides in spirit.

It could be of interest for you to get out pen and paper and try to capture his essence. You could find this a new part of your future pathway and - or if not, you could find it interesting?

What was the man reflecting to you?
What was the your feeling you when you were speaking to him?
What were you thinking about before the dreem.
In understanding this, it is possible to understand the dream.
